UFC Atlanta was certainly an interesting spectate for many MMA fans as wild knockouts and unique moments were produced throughout the event. Here is everything that happened on this crazy fight night.
preliminary card
The fight card started off with Jamie-Lyn Horth returning to the win column, defeating Vanessa Demopoulos by unanimous decision to earn a positive UFC record of 3-2.
Philip Rowe then won in tremendous fashion with a comeback knockout victory against Ange Loosa, hitting some brutal punches against the cage to stop the bout in round three.
Ricky Simon began his winning streak after a convincing unanimous decision win over short-noticed opponent, Cameron Smotherman, as he may not be far off from another shot at the Bantamweight rankings.
Jose Ochoa claimed his first triumph in the UFC in phenomenal style after knocking out Cody Durden in the second round to maintain his 100% finish rate and become the next big future prospect at Flyweight.
It then followed on with another KO victory, this time from Malcolm Wellmaker who knocked out Kris Moutinho in the first round to keep his undefeated record and earn his fourth consecutive knockout win.
Michael Chiesa went the distance with Court McGee to increase his winning streak to three, claiming an unanimous decision victory.
The featured prelim ended in bizarre fashion as Paul Craig and Rodolfo Bellato's battle ended in a No Contest at the end of the first round due to an accidental illegal upkick from the Scotsman that seemed to stun the Brazilian.
main card
A big underdog victory started off the main card as Alonzo Menifield went to the judges scorecards with Oumar Sy to win by unanimous decision and become the first man to defeat the Frenchman.
Mansur Abdul-Malik and Cody Brundage had a rather slow battle for the first two rounds, before quickly turning up the pace in the third round, however, due to a clash of heads, the fight was stopped and would go to a decision where Abdul Malik would remain undefeated by picking up an unanimous decision win.
In a thrilling battle, Raoni Barcelos and Cody Garbrandt went the distance after three rounds with the Brazilian picking up an unanimous decision win, increasing his winning run to three.
Edmen Shahbazyan's striking was just too much for Andre Petroski as both men went to the judges scorecards with the Glendale-born fighter picking up the victory.
Rose Namajunas went back to winning ways after a very competitive fight with Miranda Maverick as she did enough to succeed by unanimous decision, making her a step closer to fighting for the UFC Flyweight title.
In the main event, Kamaru Usman made a statement against Joaquin Buckley as his wrestling was a big factor in the battle, winning by unanimous decision to stay in the top five of the Welterweight rankings and putting himself close to title contention.
The next event is a fight night in Baku, Azerbaijan as former champion, Jamahal HIll takes on former title challenger, Khalil Rountree Jr, as the headliner at the Baku Crystal Hall.
