UFC 317 Results

It may just be fair to say the UFC 317 is so far the best event of 2025 after numerous crazy stoppage victories and gruelling battles. Here is everything that happened at the T-Mobile Arena.

early prelims

Jhonata Diniz vs Alvin Hines (Heavyweight Bout) - Diniz wins via Unanimous Decision (29-28, 29-28, 29-28).

Diniz got back to winning ways after going the distance with UFC newcomer Hines. Diniz landed the far more effective strikes in the first tow rounds, but slightly gassed out which almost have the debutant an opportunity to capitalise on. The Brazilian will be looking forward to his next battle in his conquest for a shot at the Heavyweight rankings.

Niko Price vs Jacobe Smith (Welterweight Bout) - Smith wins via Rear-Naked Choke (R2, 4:03).

Smith earned his first submission win of his MMA career after stopping Price in round two. The Oklahoma-born fighter stunned Price in the first round, while showcasing his grappling skills, before locking in a Rear-Naked Choke which sealed the deal. Smith remains undefeated and could be the next big prospect in the Welterweight division.

preliminary card

Terrance McKinney vs Viacheslav Borshchev (Lightweight Bout) - McKinney wins via Mounted Guillotine Choke (R1, 0:55).

McKinney did what he always does which is stop battles very quickly in the first round after submitting Borshchev. T. Wrecks landed a quick takedown before locking in a choke with Slava Claus struggling and almost escaping, but once the Guillotine was mounted, the only thing the Russian could do was tap. McKinney begins his win streak and looks to create more fireworks in his next fight.

Viviane Araujo vs Tracy Cortez (Women's Flyweight Bout) - Cortez wins via Unanimous Decision (30-27, 30-27, 30-27).

Cortez pulled off a very convincing win against Araujo, going to the judges scorecards to win by unanimous decision. The Arizona fighter proved to be stronger on the ground and came close to submitting the Brazilian, but her strength in grappling was enough to win the bout. Cortez moves up to #8 in the Flyweight rankings as after getting redemption, she aims for the top five in her next battle.

Hyder Amil vs Jose Miguel Delgado (Featherweight Bout) - Delgado wins via KO (R1, 0:26).

Delgado maintained his 100% finish rate and certainly surprised the Las Vegas crowd when he stopped Amil in just 26 seconds. The American Featherweight tried to land a combination, but just missed the chin before landing a powerful knee which knocked down the Philippines fighter and ended the contest. Delgado's last five victories have ended by KO/TKO as he looks like a dangerous knockout artist in the organisation.

Jack Hermansson vs Gregory Rodrigues (Middleweight Bout) - Rodrigues wins via KO (R1, 4:21).

Rodrigues earned his greatest victory yet when he defeated Hermansson by first-round knockout. Robocop landed a short, but brutal left hook which switched off the lights of the Norwegian before landing once more shot on the ground to make the finish more devastating. With such a statement win, it would be a surprise if Rodrigues does not battle for a place in the Middleweight rankings in his next fight.

main card

Payton Talbott vs Felipe Lima (Bantamweight Bout) - Talbott wins via Unanimous Decision (29-28, 29-28, 29-28).

Talbott redeemed his first MMA loss with an unanimous decision win of his own after defeating Lima. The hometown fighter improved his grappling skills from his last bout while intimidating the Brazilian with some powerful punches. He may have slightly lost some of his aura, but Talbott is still looking to show and prove that he is a big prospect in the 135-pound division.

Beneil Dariush vs Renato Moicano (Lightweight Bout) - Dariush wins via Unanimous Decision (29-28, 29-28, 29-28).

Dariush returned to the win column after defeating Moicano by unanimous decision, keeping his #9 ranking in the Lightweight rankings. The Iran-born fighter was knocked down at the end of the first round, but his striking and grappling tired out the Brazilian which eventually led him to victory. After such a long time away from the Octagon, Dariush will be wanting to be more active and hopefully return to the top five of the 155-pound division.

Brandon Royval vs Joshua Van (Flyweight Bout) - Van wins via Unanimous Decision (29-28, 29-28, 30-27).

Royval and Van had one of the most crazy and spectacular fights of the year with the American-Burmese fighter ending the bout as victorious. Both men exchanged numerous strikes throughout all three rounds, but it was clear that The Fearless was far more effective with his punches, especially after knocking down Royval at the end of round three. On just three weeks' notice, Van secures a victory which gives him a title shot for the Flyweight belt.

Alexandre Pantoja vs Kai Kara-France (Flyweight Title Bout) - Pantoja wins via Rear-Naked Choke (R3, 1:55).

Pantoja proved why he is not only the champion, but the most dangerous 125-pounder after submitting Kara-France. The Cannibal was dominant in all three rounds as he was not scared to exchange blows with the Kiwi, and was certainly not going to fail his Rear-Naked Choke attempt in the third round. With the UFC Flyweight Champion defending his title against Van next, another victory could literally mean that the Brazilian is truly unstoppable.

Ilia Topuria vs Charles Oliveira (Lightweight Title Bout) - Topuria wins via KO (R1, 2:27).

Topuria became a two-division champion after knocking Oliveira out cold to claim the UFC Lightweight Championship. Early on in the first round, both men were on the ground with Do Bronxs coming close to a submitting the leg of the Georgian, but once the battle was back on the feet, El Matador really showed Oliveira how much power he has as two wild punches saw the title fight end in remarkable fashion. It's unknown who Topuria will defend his title against, but after three consecutive brutal knockouts, the Lightweight Champion looks like the most scariest fighter in the UFC.
