Michael Smith started 2023 in the best possible fashion as he lifted the World Championship trophy following one of the best finals we have seen for years. However since then Bully Boy hasn't performed as well as he would of hoped after only winning the German Grand Prix since January 3rd. Can Michael Smith turn things around? We will see.

As you can see this year hasn't been what the World Champion would have hoped for however there is still a lot to play for this year. Even though this year may not be seen as a success he is still sat comfortable in the World N0.1 spot. We believe that Michael Smith will be back to his normal self very soon and blips happen to the very best as seen with Michael van Gerwen and Phil Taylor - how long that will take, we do not know.
His next challenge is on the 2nd of October where he will face Callan Rydz at the World Grand Prix. Will this tournament be a more successful one for the Englishmen? He will certainly hope so ! Don't forget to check out all of our World Grand Prix content in the coming week.
