No Martin Odegaard in Harrys Team of the Season - Let's see who features

The season is not far from over however there is still a lot to play for, with the title, relegation and European spots still up for grabs all those involved will be putting everything they can in to make sure their team is successful.

Even though the season isn't over it is fair to say we have seen some incredible individual seasons from many of those in the top flight and with that in mind I will be showing you my 2022/23 Premier League Team of the Season.

Goalkeeper:

Alisson Becker

In my opinion there is only one man for this spot, with Liverpool having a very mediocre season for there standards Alisson has been one of their very minimal bright sparks. With the second highest clean sheets with13 and Manchester United's David De Gea being the only player beating him its very hard to overlook the impact Alisson has had on the Liverpool squad this season and for that reason he is the first player added to my Team of the season.

Honourable mentions: Nick Pope, Aaron Ramsdale

Right Back:

Kieran Trippier

After a very impressive season from the Geordie side it is hard to look past their main vocal point in the squad. The England international is a no brainer for this spot in my opinion. Even after a stellar season for Newcastle United, on the cusp of European football, he will be the only player from their squad featuring in my Team of the season - it was impossible not to add Kieran Trippier to this team.

Honourable mentions: Benjamin White

Centre Back:

John Stones

With his team mate Ruben Dias being my other only alternative I had a very difficult decision to make. However due to personal preference I have gone with another England international. The 28 year old has been one of my favourite players to watch this year, the way he carries and distributes the ball so accurate and calm is mesmorising to watch. Therefore John Stones gets my first centre back spot.

Honourable mentions: Ruben Dias

Centre Back:

William Saliba

From the outside it is very interesting to see the impact injuries make on clubs and the Frenchman's created difficulties for the Gunners. Even when star signing Gabriel Jesus was injured they adapted and carried on their fine form, however when Saliba was out things started to look shaky and the North London side started to drop points when they desperately needed to.

Honourable mentions:

Thiago Silva, Lisandro Martinez

Left Back:

Nathan Ake

With the second of many Manchester City players being added to the squad I feel this is the only one for debate. With Guardiolas evident squad roulette maybe due to appearances you could argue against the Dutchman. However as a neutral the job Ake has done this year has been phenomenal and I couldn't not select him from a very slim selection at left back.

Honourable mentions:

Pervis Estupinan,  Luke Shaw

Central Defensive Midfielder:

Casemiro

With the defense all done I felt it was only right to have the defensive rock in Casemiro sat in front of them - as if that back four needed anymore coverage! Other than a few slip ups such as suspensions Casemiro has been a great watch this year and just what Manchester United need and therefore I have chosen him for my team.

Central Midfielder:

Kevin De Bruyne

Does this selection really need explaining? Definitely not but I am still going to, with yet again another very impressive season the Belgian has stepped it up once again. With 16 assists (the highest in the league) and seven goals I wouldn't want any other midfield maestro in my squad and for his mesmorising creativity I am going to select Kevin De Bruyne.

Honourable mentions:

Martin Odegaard

Right wing and Left wing

Marcus Rashford and Bukayo Saka

After what was looking like a mediocre static part of his career Marcus Rashford has reminded us all of what his hype was all about this season. With 21 goal contributions in the Premier League and games still to play it was impossible to not select him on the left hand side.

His partner on the opposite flank is his international team mate Saka. After a decent break into the Premier League in 2019, the Arsenal winger has now made the world talk about him as a serious contention for being one of the brightest young prospects in world football. With the regular shout of Mohammed Salah being my other potential choice it was difficult to pick between the two. However after watching Saka this season and seeing the levels he has produced I have decided to have him in right midfield.

Honourable mentions:

Mohammed Salah, Miguel Almiron

Strikers

Erling Haaland and Harry Kane

A team of the season without the record breaking goal scorer would be absolutely ludicrous, the Norwegian superstar has shocked the world this season. With mixed opinions from fans and pundits at the start of the season the amount Haaland was going to score this year was in question, however the top scorers potential is surely no longer a debate. After scoring 35 goals already in the Premier League he is going to be my first choice.

His striking partner for me has to be Harry Kane, it was evident that his season would go under the radar with the Manchester City star scoring an insane amount of goals. However with 26 goals he has to be mentioned, The England top goal scorer is the only striking partner Haaland should be with in my opinion for the team of the season.

Hounorable mentions: Ivan Toney
