Monaco Grand Prix Preview

Published on 23 May 2024 at 16:00

The Monaco Grand Prix remains as one of the most iconic circuits with its rich history and tight streets. It's the most demanding circuit on the racing calendar

It is part of the Triple Crown of motorsport alongside the Indy500 and the 24 Hours of Le Mans.

McLaren have two chances at winning this weekend with Lando Norris possibly achieving a fourth consecutive podium and over in the United States, there are four chances at winning in the Indy 500.

The Papaya are the most successful team in the history of the Monaco GP with 15 wins with the last of those being from Lewis Hamilton in 2008.

Ferrari's Charles Leclerc will be hoping for some luck this weekend as his previous experiences at Monte Carlo haven't been what he was hoping for. His first three Grand Prix's at his home circuit having not gone his way with the Monegasque not seeing the chequered flag.

Red Bull have won the last three races out in Monaco with Max Verstappen taking victory in 2021 and 2023 and team-mate Sergio Perez in 2022.

The Circuit de Monaco spans 3.337 km with 78 laps in total, the most laps of any other circuit in the calendar.

Will Max Verstappen be able to make it two times in a row or will the McLaren of Lando Norris or Oscar Piastri be able to challenge him to the finish line?
